What do I need to rent/operate a boat?

You must be 21 with a valid driver’s license to rent equipment from B&B. If born before July 1, 1996, you do not need any special license to operate a boat. If born after July 1, 1996, you must have a boater safety certificate to operate a boat. For more information, visit the Michigan Department of Natural Resources website.

Are life jackets included?

Yes, we will supply you with an appropriate number of life jackets for your group, including properly sizing life jackets for children. For more information on life jacket regulations, including requirements for children 6 years of age and younger, visit the Michigan Department of Natural Resources website.

How does fuel wok on the rentals?

All of our rentals go out with a full tank. When you return, we will fill the tank and you’ll pay for what you used.

Can I bring my dog on the boat?

Yes. There is a non-refundable $50 Dog Fee to take a dog on any rental boat.

Do I need to be able to pull the boat on a trailer?

No, our boats are already in the water and ready to go!

Can I rent a boat and take it to another lake?

No, our boats are already in the water and must remain on Higgins Lake.

Can I return the boat after 5:00 or keep it overnight?

All boats must be returned by 5:00 pm. Boats returned after 5:00 pm will be charged double the hourly rate. Boats going out for multiple days must be returned by 5:00 pm on the final day of the rental.

What is your cancellation policy?

We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. In the case of inclement weather, we allow same-day cancellation.
